OK, so here is a quick guide on how to use Microsoft’s
SkyDrive Cloud Storage Service. For those who don’t know what SkyDrive is, let me tell you
that it is a cloud
storage service /online file storage provider by Microsoft. If you are in need of details, Wikipedia

Storage Space Availability: SkyDrive service offers up to 7gb of free storage space for new sign-ups. For additional storage you will have to
upgrade your account and get a paid plan. The total amount of upgradable space
available is 100 GB for a paid user.
Ease of Use: The service allows users to upload files to
SkyDrive by just dragging and dropping ( up to 200 files ) them on the browser (your browser must
support HTML5. Check if your browser supports HTML5 ). Each file can be up to 300 MB in size. And yes, just like Google Drive and Dropbox, SkyDrive is also
providing a Desktop client ( SkyDrive App ) which enables the users to sync
their online folders with their windows / Mac devices in a painless manner. SkyDrive app is supported by Windows 8, Windows 7, or Vista,
or
Mac OS X Lion ( Microsoft didn't say sorry to Linux lovers :( ). The online
storage appears just as another local directory which seamlessly syncs with the cloud. You can upload files and folders to SkyDrive automatically by copying, moving, or saving them to the SkyDrive folder on your computer. Using the app you can upload files up to 2gb in size.

Manage Storage Option takes you to the Manage Storage screen where you can upgrade your gratis 7gb account to a paid 20+7gb / 50+7gb / 100+7gb account for cheap prices.
Click on your profile name on the top right corner of the top pane. Edit profile lets you update your profile information and change picture. Account Settings takes you to your Account Summary where you can modify your Microsoft account information.
You can create and edit Excel spreadsheets, Word Documents, PowerPoint Presentations and OneNote Notebooks on the fly (using Office Web apps) and folders with the help of create option on top. You can easily open them in Office desktop programs to make thorough changes. You can display the files in thumbnails or details view and sort the files in ascending or descending order by theirs name, creation date, modification date or size.
To add files to a folder you need to open the folder and click upload ( If prompted, you might need to in install Microsoft Silverlight). You can drag and drop files ( <200 ) on the folder area to start upload automatically.
You can share photos, Microsoft Office documents, and other files with the people you prefer. Go to the file or folder and select it. If the Details pane is collapsed then expand it. Under Sharing, click Share or Share folder. On the Send email tab, add the email addresses, contact names, or a group you want to share with. If you want the recipients to sign in before modifying the file or folder contents check the Recipients can edit option on.
